Special Olympics Athletes Fun Day Special Day
May 1st, 2014
On May 1, 2014 the Turkish Society of Canada partnered with Special Olympics Ontario and the Turkish Community Heritage Centre of Canada to organize a day full of fun activities for elementary school children with intellectual disabilities. The children engaged in activities such as basketball, soccer, bowling, curling, softball, floor hockey, and races during the day which allowed them to gain confidence and skills in leadership, teamwork and communication.
Fogler, Rubinoff LLP's Pinar Ozyetis, a Partner in the Business Law Group, who does pro-bono work for and is involved with various events of the Turkish Society, sponsored a portion of this event by providing funds for the sandwich station for the children who built up an appetite after an afternoon of activity.
