Paniz recently graduated magna cum laude from the Dual J.D. program at the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy. Prior to attending law school, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Sociology from McMaster University.
Upon completion of her first year, she had the opportunity to work at the Michigan Department of Attorney General in the Civil Rights Division as a summer intern. In her role, she performed legal research on workplace discrimination in the course of drafting pleadings. Additionally, in her second year, Paniz was a teaching assistant for the first-year Constitutional Law class and a peer mentor to first-year students.
Paniz developed a passion for advocacy and participated in several moot court competitions during her time in law school. In her third year, Paniz participated in the 30th Annual Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) Cup Competition and was awarded the Will Davidson Award for Best Opening Address.
Paniz has received several academic awards including the Aird & Berlis LLP Award and the Detroit Mercy Sharon C. Ranucci Scholarship. In her final year, Paniz received the highest grade in Construction Law and was the recipient of the 2021 Iranian Canadian Legal Professionals Scholarship.
In her spare time, Paniz enjoys exploring new coffee shops, gourmet cooking and spending time with her family.
