PROFILE

Gareth is an Associate who has practiced condominium law for a number of years, including with a boutique condominium law firm prior to re-joining Fogler, Rubinoff LLP in 2018. 

As condominium corporate counsel, Gareth’s practice includes advising clients on all facets of the Condominium Act, 1998 including with respect to complex commercial agreements, corporate governance, shared facilities agreements and disputes, compliance matters, lien matters, and changes to common elements and/or services in condominiums. Gareth advises boards of directors of condominium corporations, condominium service providers, and condominium unit owners.

Gareth frequently chairs meetings of condominium owners, including annual, special, and requisitioned meetings, acts as an expert resource at owners’ meetings, and he is conversant in all matters of meeting procedure. Gareth focuses on de-escalating condominium disputes and on using forms of alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation, to achieve optimal outcomes for clients. Further, Gareth teaches modules of the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario condominium law courses to property management firms and presents to the condominium industry on all facets of condominium law, and corporate law where it intersects with condominiums.
