Paniz has recently completed her second year in the Dual JD program at the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy. Prior to attending law school, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Sociology from McMaster University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
During her first year in the Dual JD program, she served as an executive member of the Animal Justice Association and was involved as a classroom facilitator for the Windsor Law High School Outreach Program. She also competed in several moot and alternative dispute resolution competitions. During her second year, Paniz was a teaching assistant for the first-year Constitutional Law class and was also a peer mentor to first-year students assisting them with their transition into law school. She has received several academic awards for her achievements including the Aird & Berlis LLP Award and the Detroit Mercy Sharon C. Ranucci Scholarship.
Upon completion of her first year, she had the opportunity to work at the Michigan Department of Attorney General in the Civil Rights Division as a summer intern. During this internship, her interest in advocacy developed after she got the chance to appear before a trial judge for an impaired driving case. In her role, she further performed legal research on workplace discrimination in the course of drafting pleadings.
In her spare time, Paniz enjoys hosting dinner parties, gourmet cooking and spending time with her family.
